Who we are

Coventry Triathletes is the home for all things triathlon in Coventry and the surrounding areas.

We have all kinds of triathletes that range in ages across the board and include a few in their late 70’s and early 80’s. In terms of levels and abilities we have a spectrum of triathletes from people who are at the novice level, learning to swim and looking to enter a sprint triathlon, all the way up to being experienced Iron Man triathletes, and all things in between at Cov Tri. We even have a few National and European age group champion!

We are a coach led club where our team of coaches bring a depth of expertise into the Club. Their approach is athlete centered. That means, they meet each athlete (or triathlon participant) at what stage they are at and support them to achieve their personal goals. You will see many of our coaches at the regular training events we put on including running sessions on Tuesday’s in the War Memorial Park and swimming sessions at the pool in Henry VIII on Wednesday and Sundays. Being triathlon, there are also bike sessions on Sunday mornings and indoor session on Thursday’s throughout the winter. We also support Triathletes with training plans which you can see on the Cov Tri Achieve page. If you have entered a triathlon, you are rarely on your own.

The Club was formed in 1989 and you will see us in a very distinctive kit of blue spots in many triathlons both locally and further afield. Please feel free to shout ‘Come on Spots!’ if you see any of us taking part.

We also host Coventry’s only triathlon, a Sprint Triathlon. This is typically in May and is held at the Excel Centre. Further details can be see on the Sprint Tri page
